My Perfect Lover

Instructions: The tagged victim has to come up with 8 different points of their perfect lover. Specify the gender of the target. Tag 8 victims to join this game and leave a comment on their page saying they've been tagged. If tagged the 2nd time, there's no need to post again.

*Author's Note: I've decided against bugging people to find out about their perfect lover because .. 1. if they are female, i have absolutely no interest in finding out whether i satisfy the conditions. 2. if they are male, its too darn obvious that i might just be interested in them ehs?*

So here goes ...

Gender: MALE. (i'm straight =P)

1. My lover = My boyfriend = My husband.
I have to wake up in the morning to smile to myself and think how lucky I am to see such a beautiful face the first thing I open eyes. Well, he doesn’t have to be the best looking chap out there, but to me, he is. That's what that matters. And hopefully, he would think the same of me.
So my first criteria would be that I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my life with this man that im going to commit a relationship with. (: and that shouldnt really be very hard, if i .. really love him. But what's love again?

2. Serious and Dependable
I dont mean someone with thick specs that doesnt laugh or joke at all, but someone who knows exactly what he wants and would go all out/ put in that extra effort to make things perfect, to work hard for his dreams instead of merely having lofty aims and not do anything about it. As Mindy would say, "you think money drop from the sky one arh?!?" Who would want to marry a husband and pay for his expenses? (Though i suppose Britney is some kind of exception. That’s only if he stays her husband for long.)
The world is practical and we have to be. Let’s face reality and realize that we’ve got to work hard for a good life. So no playboys for me, give me Goh Chok Tong over Justin Timberlake anytime. (:
Besides, serious men like Kaede Rukawa and Tezuka Kunitmisu are really my weakness. ;)

3. Witty and humourous
Which girl can resist such a guy! Of course, this isn’t a criteria, but more of a plus point, an aspect of a man that i would be attracted to. Of course, wit = no crude language. I have no idea why teenagers in Singapore think its cool to swear, a phenomenon that the male population especially likes to exhibit.

4. Traditional
Don’t get me wrong, a traditional man is not a traditionalist. Not Mao-fan, but a family man. A filial son is a good husband, a good brother will be a caring father. No pre-martial sex, no drugs and no smoking. Sorry, I don’t really fancy bad boys. I like them good and clean and all things nice (:

5. Committed and Honest
No polygamy. One man to one woman and vice versa. I know I will be head over heels in love with him, so its going to break my heart if he’s going to be seeing more than one girl or if he’s just going in for fun. How would one know … but I do believe time reveals a lot.
Honesty is always the best policy … in a relationship especially. Its never possible to sustain a lie, it either results in a web of lies and hence a relationship based on fabricated stories or everything will just explode one day and that will be ugly. L

6. Sensitive and yet, Mature
Sensitive guys are charming because they not only become your best friends who hear you out and give you great advice and yet at the same time console you and make you feel good, but also I have gotta admit it does feel nice once in a while to enjoy the privilege of being a girl and let the gentleman treat you like a princess. (: SNAGs are in now.
Of course, sensitive guys are sweet, but emotional guys are creepy. Pardon my feminist views (after all I was brought up in RGS and it rather much shaped who I am today) but the tears of the man should be kept within. I don’t really appreciate it when guys start getting all worked up over little issues, wallowing in self- pity or fall into frequent depressions. It just ain’t right, its not a Man thing. Men have to be there to lend her a shoulder when the girls cry.
And yes, I would like a mature guy too. Someone that sees beyond the physical attractiveness of his girlfriend and love her for her personality. Someone who doesn’t necessary have to send me bouquets for Valentine’s but stay by my side when I’m feeling like crap. Someone who would knock some sense into me when im getting too rash and advice me on right decisions.

7. Confident
Confident guys are attractive because they tend to exude that aura that many a times I cannot resist. Besides, I believe that if one doesn’t love and appreciate oneself most, who would? Confidence matters a lot in a relationship as well because a relationship isn’t about liking what your other half likes but maintaining your own individuality and yet appreciating that of your partner’s.
But of course, confidence doesn’t equate to arrogance. It’s a thin line that many would cross … making confident guys all the more rare and charming. (:
And I really would like to worship my man. AHAHA.

8. Passionate
Final criteria. Yeah, what’s a love relationship without passion? (: And passion doesn’t just apply to love, but to career and in fact many aspects of life. Its about believing in what you are doing and loving it. (: and such Men are appealing because I feel passion goes a long way in bringing out the charisma of a man.
Of course, this is how important because if the man doesn’t love you, he isn’t your lover, he is just your crush. =P

Realized how hard it is to sum up what you look for in a life-long partner (in my case at least) in just 8 adjectives/ criterias. But of course, there are many little details that would determine your decision, something small like the height of the guy (I would fancy a guy taller than me!) to something more … like whether he is impressive and capable enough to become a great leader (how irresistible!). So yups, for now, here goes. (:

And shucks, i just spent my beautiful saturday afternoon typing this in front of the computer. But its okay, i deserve to slack and waste my time away after a long and tortuous block test. and of course, as a nice favour to one of my favourite juniors. GOSH, im sucha nice class senior. MUAHHAA.
